Pink Shirt day.
This term we are learning how to be up-standers and stop bullying. So last Friday we had pink shirt day to represent being an up-stander, we all wore something pink. I helped make hundreds of gingerbread lovehearts that we iced with pink icing and sprinkles. We then sold those biscuits for 50 cents a small one and a $1 for a big one.
I thought this was a really good idea for re-enforceing the message of being an up-stander.

Hanmer Camp 2019
On Monday we went to Hanmer for our school camp. We did lots of activities. We did Mountain biking, Tree climbing, orienteering, the Hot Pools, Conical hill, the cemetery and the lollie shop.
We had so much fun.
We stayed at the Hanmer forest camp just outside the town.
For dinner on the first night we had spaghetti Bolognaise and the second night we had deviled sausages.
My favourite activity was tree climbing and the hot pools, although I enjoyed them all.

My Myth- The Green Flash.
This week we had to create our own myth. I chose to create on around the green flash. Her is my work.
Once there was a beautiful young woman who lived on the wild West Coast of the South Island.. Her name was Ra Tuhiwai. She was the daughter of Tane Tuhiwai and the lover of Hare Tohoro who was a young warrior. They had a beautiful baby boy called Marama. But soon a tragic thing happened, Hare went to war with the neighbouring tribe and did not return. In her grief Ra rose up and became the sun. But she had left her only child, Marama. Marama was all alone. He had to look after himself. But seeing as he was only 3 he rose up and became the light (Marama). To this day they both remain in the sky. They meet on clear nights and their bond creates a green glow or a flash.
That is the story of the green flash.
