Desciptive writing

This week for writing we had to create a spooky ghost story, I really liked doing this activity because I thoughtit was really fun to decribe somthing scary

Writing:

The blood is racing through my head as I flee from my nightmare.
I feel my heart pounding in my chest it’s almost like it’s in my head.
The ghostly sounds are chorasing. The booming thunder crashes
around me.

The smokey abandon smell smothers me with intense fear .
I sprint down the cold, damp hallway. Voices are screaming through
my head chanting for me, or is it at me I can’t tell. I want to give up
but I can’t….. it’s for my best friend. I hear dripping, I’m petrified, I
sprint harder into the distants. I tell myself that it will be fine but as I
get closer I see it’s not………………………

Growing Healthy Bodies.

This term for our topic we have been working on growing healthy bodies, today we had a special vist from ex nurse (Anne), She was really helpful and told us all about how much sugar is in some drinks. I was really suprised about how much sugar is in coke. Down below are some examples of how many grams and how many t-spoons.

Growing healthy bodies.

Do we know what's in the bottles.

• drinks (lot’s of sugar)
• Coke= rotten teeth, fat, you have to run a marathon to burn off all the sugar and acid.
• Acid+sugar= rotten Teeth.

1. Lift+ (59 grams of sugar)= 14.7 tsp
2. V8 Veggie juice (27 grams of sugar)=6.7 tsp
3. Pump flavour water (17 grams)=4.25 tsp
4. V pure (29.2 grams of sugar)=7.2 tsp
5. V energy drink (53 grams of sugar)=13.25 tsp
6. Sprite (25 grams of sugar) =6.2 tsp
7. Coke (64 grams) 16 tsp

Anne made us arrange all the drinks into an order that we thought was most healthy to least healthy. This was at the start.

Beeswax with Kane.

This week we had one of our students in our class (Kane) showed and told us a little bit about bees and beeswax. He also brought in some beeswax and melted it. I thought it was really cool and interesting This is what I learnt.

Beeswax

It is beeswax not honey.

This is a clean honeycomb frame.

Cheese cloth used to squeeze the honeycomb so honey comes out.

The process: He is putting the beeswax into a pot then he is going to
wait till the beeswax melts and gets clean. He has got some hot water.
 when the beeswax melts it makes it more clean.

It’s like chocolate because if you don’t put water with it it burns, like chocolate.
The honey proces: they get pollen and nectar to make the honey and put it into the
hexagons, then another bee (worker bee) eat it then they vomit it up and that continues
until the cap it and take it away. Honey is vomit.

Week 2 Maths Work book

This week for maths we had to complete a maths work book. Our goal was to find a percentage of an amount. I found this activity quite hard, but I got there in the end.

Descriptive Writing.

This week for writing we had to describe an image that Miss Hines gave us. I really liked this activity and I would like to do it again.

  Descriptive Writing                 

I can see the sun rays finding gaps between the trees then bursting out and blinding me.
I can see the empty soccer field waiting for the afternoon game. I can see the glistening
frost lighting up from the sun, it has turned pink.

I can hear the early morning birds chirping there wake up songs. I can hear muffled
engines far away.

I can feel the still loneliness burning inside me. I can feel my cheeks burning with the
coldness, it hurts.

I can feel my warm breath in my jacket, it’s very warm.

I can smell dead damp winter leaves on the ground. I can smell the distant coffee in
the nearest town.

I am trying to taste but my burning numb tongue won't let me.

I could do with a hot Coffee.
